Bacanora
Bacanora is a traditional Mexican spirit made from wild agave, primarily produced in the mountainous regions of Sonora. Like mezcal, Bacanora is crafted using artisanal, small-batch methods, including roasting the agave hearts in earthen pits, natural fermentation, and distillation in copper or clay stills. The resulting spirit is known for its smooth, smoky, and earthy flavor profile, often with subtle herbal or fruity notes that reflect the unique terroir of Sonora. Bacanora has a rich cultural heritage and a centuries-old production tradition, making it a distinctive and authentic expression of Mexico’s diverse agave spirits.
