Chinaco is the only tequila brand that is still distilled in Tamaulipas, something they had to fight the Mexican government to protect as it wasn't a designated region for the distillery to operate out of. Their reposado tequila is aged for 11 months in oak, some of which previously were used to age Scotch whisky. The reposado shows the sweetness from the barrel in vanilla, chocolate, and wood spices but not as extreme as the smokiness shown on their añejo
(UB Collection,Finalist)- The herbaceous aromas on this reposado are alluring. Desert brush and cooked agave give way to vanilla and salt taffy in the mouth. There’s a spicy prickle on the finish, but it’s the trace of brine that piques the interest.
